Dear councilor,
I am writing in regard to the new shopping mall that is being built in my neighborhood. This morning I discovered this news on the poster right in front of the playground. At first I did not believe my eyes, but as soon as I check it out online, I was shocked.
On the poster the developer says that the local citizens will benefit from the new mall, such as low prices for food, boutiques with a large variety of clothing and an electrical goods store. To be honest despite those advantages, I am against it, because they are building the center on the site of our playground. If they complete the construction, the children in my neighborhood will have no area to play in.
If they are going to occupy the current playground, I want to know what they will provide children with as a compensation. On top that, they are going to do with the old trees near the site. As a community, we are opposed to the idea of cutting them down. We think it would be better to plant them in the schoolyard, so that local dwellers will have the opportunity to enjoy them in the sunshine while walking the around the school.
I look forward to your reply as soon as possible, since my neighbors are concerned and doubtful about these possible advantages.
Yours faithfully,
Tolegen
