The bar chart illustrates global pineapple exports by the three most productive nations in 2009 and 2019 while the pie chart displays the breakdown of the cost of each pineapple.
In general, while pineapple exports of country A and C rose throughout 10 years, that of country B declined. It can also be seen that distribution and retail accounted for the biggest share in the cost of a pineapple.
In 2009, country A exported over 1 million tonnes of pineapple. Over the next decade, this figure experienced a surge to over 10 million tonnes, the highest among all countries. Country C also saw a minor increase in pineapple exports. In contrast, the amount of pineapples exported by country B decreased from above 4 million tonnes to under 2 million tonnes over the examined period.
It can be seen from the pie chart that distribution and retail accounted for the lion share of 35% of the cost of each pineapple. Export costs and producer recorded the lowest statistics with 4% and 5% respectively. The remaining sectors constituted the rest of the cost with the figures ranging from 10% to 16%.
