The line graph illustrates the average amount of carbon dioxide emitted by each individual from 4 countries from 1967 to 2007.
Generally, British citizens were responsible for the largest amount of CO2 release over the period.
In 1967, about 11 tonnes of CO2 were released by each British person. The figure of which maintained the same amount until 1977, there was a slight downward trend which ended at about 9 tonnes. Followed by was Sweden, each Swedish citizen produced about 9 tonnes of CO2 in 1967. The figure then reached the peak when it increased by 3 tonnes after 10 years. However, it soon dropped significantly to roughly 5 in 2007.
Meanwhile, the trends of CO2 released by the citizen in Italy and Portugal were the same. The number of co2 produced by an Italian and a Portuguese citizen started at over 4 tonnes and roughly 1 tonne in respectively. Yet, they quickly escalated 4 more tonnes of carbon dioxide. From 1997 to 2007, both trends remained at the figure of tonnes in Portugual and roughly 8 in Italy.
