The dashboard below depicts the ranges of precipitation and temperature in Kolkata on monthly basis.
Looking from all perspectives, it is readily apparent that the trends of both rainfall and temperature show an upward trend during the first six months while there is a downward trend for the rest of the year. Turning to the details, the temperature shares the same lowest point in January and December, showing at 20 degrees Celsius. The graph shows a gradual increase since January and the hottest month is observed to be the month of May at more than 30 degrees. After May, it does not have an obvious change in temperature, ranging from 27 to 30. Then, a slight dip is followed until it reaches 20 in December.
Regarding the rainfall, the first five months do not show massive precipitation covering up to only 100 mm. Nonetheless, it skyrockets in June, depicting at 250 mm and the rate of precipitation reaches its peak in July with almost 350 mm, accompanied by the latter two months of massive rainfall. The first sharp dip is in October reaching 150 mm, and the second dip is observed to be in November with below 50 mm.
To sum up, the middle months of the year, namely June, July, August, and September are the months with the highest precipitation and the highest temperature in Kolkata.
