The graph illustrates energy consumption in the US between 1980 and projections until 2030
Overview, the use of energy in the US has seen upward trends, whereas Petrol and oil were dominant. There was a slight fluctuation in the amount of Petrol and Oil consumed in the US from 35q to 32q between 1980 and 1990. Then the figures rose rapidly by 10q over 10 years. Additionally, this is expected to have a moderate increase from 40q to 47q from 2005 to 2030
Moreover, while gas consumption decreased from 20q to 17q, the use of coal went up slightly between 1980 and 1995, then they were equal in figures. Despite having fluctuations from 1990 to 2010, the amount of coal is predicted to grow rapidly over 20 years. In contrast, the figures for gas may stay steady from 2015 to 2030
The remaining were equal till 1985. Then, nuclear power rose gradually by around 10q from 1990 to 2005, whereas the consumption of S and H stayed unchanged (7q) until 1990. However, after slow fluctuations, the amount of N, S, H is predicted to stay steady from 2005 to 2030
