The chart shows the percentage of groups of companies in Australia which used social media for business purposes between 2012 and 2016.
The given bar chart depicts the proportion of three groups of firms in Australia that social media was applied for business reasons in a four-year period, starting from 2012.
Overall, the ratio of all types of companies witnessed an upward pattern whereas the opposite was true in 2015. Additionally, the large firms constituted the highest percentage, outnumbering the others over a period of five years.
In 2012, the small and medium companies had the modest figure, at 29% and 31%, respectively while the large firms started at a significant number, precisely 80%. In the next two years, the small-sized and medium-sized enterprises went up by roughly 10% and nearly 20%, in that order. The large. however, saw an inconsiderable drop, from 80% in 2012 to 78% in 2014.
On the contrary, both types of firms had a downward pattern. There was a decline in the use of social media to exactly 30% by the small and medium and to 500% by the large. Nevertheless, the figures in 2016 rose to 49% and 55% for small-sized and medium-sized enterprises while the proportion of social media usage in the large companies returned to the same level of 2012 and 2013.
