The process illustrates the various stages involved in loading and unloading cargoes.
In general, it is apparently evident that there is a repetitive operation where two cranes help to move goods. The stacking process starts with the help of cranes in unloading goods and ends with delivering cargoes to their next destinations, whereas the loading operation goes into reverse order.
As can be seen in the picture, when the vessel arrives, the quay crane is utilized to pick items up from the cargo compartment. After that, they are moved by vehicles to a machine called the RMG crane to be stacked and arranged. Those items are then continuously taken to the gate by vehicles and transported to their next destination by road or rail.
In the loading process, the first step is that vehicles deliver containers into the harbor, then bring them to the yard where the RMG crane is placed to prepare for the next step. Next, after being stacked, the goods are moved to the quayside. In the final stage, they are loaded onto the vessel with the help of the quay crane.
