From the given illustration, one can understand the means by which solar panels can generate energy which is to be used for domestic purposes.

To understand the function, we must look into its components and structure. The solar system consists of a box with an inlet and outlet. Covering the box, is a transparent top which act as the solar heat retainer. The transparent top is fixed over the base box.

As the sun shines, the heat energy will hit the transparent top which will trap the energy. This will lead to rise in temperature of the interiors of the base. The application of the system depends on the type of material passing through the inlet and outlet.

If cold air passes through the inlet, the solar panel will heat the air and lets it out as warm air. In case of cold water, the output will be warm water and of course, all the necessary pipelines and structures are to be provided for the flow of the materials inside the box.
