The line graph depicts the information regarding the population of a specific country divided by their age group, starting in 1960 and with a prediction to 2040.
As observed, it is evident that the population is divided into three groups on the basis of their age. The first is from 0 to 14 age secondly from 15 to 64 years old and the last or the old people above 65 years of age. 55% of the population was accounted in 1960 for people between 15 and 64 years old, however it increased by 5% in the next decade. Then, it remained constant for the next 20 years with minor drop in 1980s. It started to gradually dropped by 1990 to 2020 and settled from 60% to 50%, whereas it is believed that it will decline to 45% in the year 2040.
On further analysis, the elders of the above 65 years of age were accounted to 15% in 1960 add a reminder unchanged till the next decade. Meanwhile, it rose significantly by the year 1980 from 15% to 30% in the year 2010. However a rapid rate of increase is predicted till 2020 and would settle to 45% by then. The children less than 14 years of age were 30% of the population in 1960 and reduced by 5% in the next decade, likewise it dropped gradually accounted to only 15% by 2000. Lastly, it is predicted that the population of children will decrease by 5% in the year 2040.
Overall, it is evident that the young ones between 15 and 64 years of age were the least in 1960 and it will increase significantly and forecasted to dominate the population by 2040.
