The pictorial depicts the phases involved in the production of electricity using water.
Overall, the generation of electric energy from water, relies on both natural and artificial processes.
From the picture, first heat from the sun causes evaporation in the sea to form clouds in the sky. Then the clouds become dense and condense resulting in rainfall which is subsequently collected in a man made reservoir, dam.
Water from the dam is channeled through a narrow tunnel fitted with an outlet/inlet valve which leads to the turbines. The force of water is used to propel the turbines, generating electricity, prior to being sent to the pump where it is pumped back into the dam. Whilst, the electricity is transmitted via overhead high voltage cables attached to towers to the transformer station. Next, is the final stage where the energy is distributed for use in houses, factories, hospitals and schools via underground cables.
