The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing in households in one country between 1920 and 2019. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graphs illustrate the ratio of homes with electrical appliances and the proportion of time spent weekly on house chores in a particular state spanning from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, the charts show that as the number of homes with gadgets increased, hours spent on familial tasks declined.
The first graph depicts that, in 1920, the number of cottages with machines was below the 50% mark. However, the ratio of homes with washing machines inclined slightly from 40% in 1920 to 75% by 2019. The margin of apartments with refrigerators increased sharply to reach a high of 100% by 1980 and leveled off until 2019. The proportion of buildings with vacuum cleaners in 1920 was 30% and marginally rose to 100% by 2000 and remained constant until 2019.
Hours consumed weekly on domestic chores fell significantly between 1920 and 1960 by 30%. The downward trajectory continued rather minimally over the next two decades to reach 15% by 1980 and remained unmoved for twenty years, prior to another slight fall to close at 10% in 2019.
