Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage
The reading and lecture are both about the online graduate program. The author of the reading states that although online courses are indentical to many extent however, they are quiet distinct in some ways and the author elaborates the cons of online courses. The lecturer disagress. He mentions online study also offers the same level of courses as campus do and attacks each of the claim maode in the article.
Firstly, the author begins by stating that in college students can have face to face conversaation with their instructor. In addition, teachers are sucepticle conduct conference, meeting and so on which befifits the overall growth in the academic field as this provide opportunity to students. The professor belives there are flaws in the writer’s position. He contends that having one to one conversation with teacher is utterly upto the learner. In online class as well they can contact with their instructor on phone, email, chat and so on.
Secondly, according to the passage, online courses are inferior and not complicate as compared to the physical courses. Consequently, students can complete the entire courses within a week. Additionally, technology aid students to take courses in same level where junior are graded their level of intellegence which was the task of senior stream on campus. The speaker on other hand points out that quality of courses in online is equivalent to the college as online classes must meet the courses of campus. Similarly, online courses are more complicated in real as students are compelled to manafe time, courses and technology for their classes.
Finally, the reading passage notes that students cannot complete their masters degree through online class as many of the top school donot offer the degree program. Besides even if there is available few students require to expend time on campus residence. The professor rebuts this argument. He says there are many top level college which offer the same degree as campus. Only the few have the requirement of college residence. Furthermore, he accord few of the examples of high level college which offers masters degree online.
As we can see, the author and lecturer holds very conflicting views on online programs. The speaker effectively challenges the writer’s argument.
