The diagram shows Lakeside development between years 2000 and 2009. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given diagram illustrates the modernization of Lakeside over a period of nine years from 2000 to 2009.
It is evident from the diagram that Lakeside underwent some noticeable transformations, with the most typical one being the expansion of an Industrial Complex. Additionally, there was a river crossing the town from the North to the South.
To the west of the river, in 2000, there were a Residential area located in the northwest corner and a school to the south of it, whose locations remained unchanged to 2009. At the same time, adjacent to it was a Derelic warehouse and an Old town, which were demolished in favor of a Car park and Officies and Universities in turn. Meanwhile, the Art center flanked by the Residential area to the north and that to the south was substituted by a Cinema, compared to the introduction of a Shopping center at the position where the Residential area used to be.
In terms of the eastern area, the Industrial complex was enlarged, forcing the Residential area situated to the Southeast to disappear. In addition, whereas the location of the river did not change throughout the research time, the lake located to the North of it was pulled down to make way for the erection of a Pond.
