Many students find it difficult to focus or pay attention at school nowadays.
What are the reasons for this?
What can be done to solve this problem?
In contemporary society, a myriad of students has difficulty in staying focused or paying attention to the lessons at school. In my opinion, this phenomenon can derive from distinctive reasons such as technological tools or teaching methods, and this can be tackled by some appropriate methods.
To begin with, there are many reasons that lead to the lack of students’ concentration at school. Firstly, the deficiency of concentration can stem from the advancement of technology such as smartphones or tablets which are brought to school with learning purposes. However, most students do not utilize technological devices to search for some knowledge that they find hard to absorb, but they use their own devices to experience some recreational activities such as playing video games, using social media or watching video and they will be distracted from the lessons which can affect their academic performance.
The most feasible solutions are for parents and schools to monitor students strictly. In terms of parents, they should supervise their offspring thoroughly by limiting phone usage time or encouraging them to use technological gadgets to learn more new knowledge instead of playing games to prevent their children from sticking eyes to the phone screen which can deprive their concentrating ability. On the other hand, they should allow their children to approach some intellectual games like puzzling and chess which can also enable them to improve their ability to concentrate because these games require children to stay focused to think of the appropriate strategies so that they can beat their opponents. Furthermore, the principal of the schools should enact some regulations about using phones at school, students are only allowed to use their gadgets for learning purposes or in some urgent circumstances. If students do not obey the rule, they will be punished strictly.
In short, this matter is hard to handle because technological devices play a significant role in this technological era, schools can implement changes to curb its effect. It is also crucial for parents to observe their children to prevent their children from overusing phones and neglecting studies.
