The graph below shows the changes in food consumption by Chinese people between 1985 and 2010.
The line graph represents the quantity of different types of food consumed by Chinese people in grams per person in a week from 1985 to 2010.
Overall, the fish consumption increased substantially compared to the decreasing the salt consumption, whereas meat consumption showed a slow growth in its consumption.
Looking at the detail, 600 grams consumed fish in a week of 1985, and which rose by 100 grams within 5 years before it dropped to 600 grams per fish consumed by Chinese in the week of 1995. After that, the fish consumption continuously rose to reach at its peak of 850 grams per week.
In contrast, salt began at 500 grams of consumption in the week of 1985, after that it dipped substantially for the next 15 years, at 400 grams in the week of 1995. By 2010, the declining trend of salt consumption persistent to end at 200 grams per salt per week.
On the other hand, if we look at meat consumption, which started at the lowest point of 100 grams per person per week in the first year. After that this slowly rose to finish at 200 grams per meat per week of the year of 2000.
