The chart represents the proportion of different educational levels for post-school qualifications in the UK between genders in 2008.
Overall, as the level of education was higher, the proportion of male holders increased. Also, it is interesting to note that, skilled vocational diploma qualifications were mostly held by males.
Looking in details, vocational diploma qualification had the dominant percentage of male holders of about 75% as opposed to 25% of female holders. The highest educational level of master's degree shows the male holders had a distinctive proportion than that of female holders (60% and 40% respectively). Similarly, postgraduate diploma also had the similar trend where the percentage of qualifications for male was higher (about 55%) than that of females (about 48%).
In terms of undergraduate diploma, the proportion of male qualifications decreased substantially. Female showed the dominant proportion of qualification of undergraduate diploma of about 65% compared to approximately 35% of males. Furthermore, bachelor's degree had the similar trend where about 52% of female had this qualification whereas 48% of male held of such a qualification.
