Comparison of car theft
The presented line chart provides the number of car which were thieved during nine years in 4 countries, namely Great Britain, Sweden, France and Canada.
In general, the total of car theft in Great Britain was the most, whereas that of in Canada was the lowest.
Firstly, in 1990, the car theft in Great Britain were approximately 20000 vehicles, followed by one in Canada, at 7000 cars. From 1990 to 1993, after having witnessed a slight increase in the number of car thieved in 1991, the cars theft decreased moderately at 17000 vehicles. The total of car theft in Canada also dropped to 5000 cars. After that, both of Great Britain and Canada experienced a small rise in the number of car theft, at 20000 and 6000 vehicles in 1997. In the last two years, while the total of car thieved in Great Britain reduced at 17000 cars, one in Canada reached at peak 7000 cars in 1999.
On the other hand, in 1990, the number of car theft in Sweden and France was 8000 and 6000 vehicles. Over the period between 1990 to 1993, both of which fluctuated and stayed at 8500 cars and 7000 cars respectively. In 1997, the total of car theft in Sweden jumped to 12000 vehicles, twice as high as in France in 1996,then staying constant at this number in 1998. By contrast, this figure in France at the same time was 6000 cars. In the last year -1999- the number of car thieved in Sweden leaped to a new peak (14000 cars) while one in France just had 6000 vehicles.
