Advances in transportation and communication like the airplane and the telephone have changed the way that nations interact with each other in a global society. Choose another technological innovation that you think is important. Give specific reasons for your choice.
The interaction among the nations across the world is very important to solve global issues, maintain peace in the world and for many other reasons. Every nation has its own representative or party to handle its nation, but there are some situations in which the communication between these representatives of different countries is crucial for the betterment of human life and the of the world.
Before the progression of science and technology, many years ago, people used birds for the interaction between two regions. they used to write a letter and send it through the bird like pigeons. It took several days or even a year sometimes to reach the message and return it. As advances it transportation took place, the way nations communicate and interact with each other is totally different and more effective. Some examples are an airplane, telephone, fax, email and so on.
Another technological innovation that I think important is video conferencing. I believe that telephones, email, airplane are not as sufficient and reliable as video conferencing and there are some reasons behind the same.Firstly, if someone uses the telephone, it may be possible that someone tapes the conversation. So, it turns out to be harmful if the conversation is about some secret talk or confidential information. Secondly, if emails are used, then some hackers may hack email address and hence the information may be leaked or someone uses that email address for his/her own personal gain. Additionally, if the airplanes are used as transportation, then it is not always true that weather is convenient for flight, and if it is not, then important meeting has to be cancelled. Apart from that, the route may be busy for flight. If the airplane is used, then it means that the people who will be the part of the conference or meeting, will come to a place from different places around the world. This may not be convenient for all the persons.
For all these reasons, video conferencing is much more effective and less time-consuming option. There are some specific reasons for choosing this option. Firstly, in video conferencing, each member can see all other members' face. So there will be no chance of misinterpretation or no scope of unreliability. Secondly, no one has to go to one common place and hence, it saves time of everyone. All the members can talk to more than one person from anywhere at any time. Thirdly, there is no fear of leaking confidential data. Moreover, people who are the part of the video conferencing may present their ideas through images, charts or even with video or presentation.
Thus, according to me, video conferencing is a much better way to interact with other nation.
