The reading and the writing is about the possibility of survive a space station in venus. The author of the reading is pessimistic and he claims that it is impossible to stay at venus. However, in the lecture, the professor thinks that it is not impossible to flat a station on 50 km above the surface of the venus and provides several reasons to prove it.

Firstly, the author of the reading avers that the atmospheric pressure of venus surface is too high to survive because at that pressure, not only animals but also spacecraft will destroy. The professor, on the other hand, refutes this idea by saying that it is obvious that no one can stay at the surface of the venus but they can easily manage their as well as their spaceship existence at venus by floating on 50 km above the ground of the Venus where pressure is as the earth surface.

Secondly, the surface is so inhospitable for human since there are no water reservoir exist there. This point is made in the reading. The speaker agree with some point of this argument and says that it is true that there is no water reservoir in venus, but there are some chemical components like carbon dioxide, and sulfuric acid. The hopes that it is possible to produce water by reacting both of that. He also says that there is no need to import water from earth.

Thirdly, the writers avers that the amount of sunlight which reach at the ground is very small, and there solar panel will not work at the station so it will be very hard to produce electricity. The professor disagrees with this point. He states that above the 50 km from surface, there will be enough amount of solar light, and as clouds reflects light rays, those solar panel can catch both way rays. Therefore, enough electricity can produce at spacecraft.
