the amount of electricity produced by 4 different sources

Essay topics:

the amount of electricity produced by 4 different sources

The graph illustrates the amount of electricity produced by 4 different sources in France over a period of 30 years.

Overall, while the amount of Nuclear and Renewables electricity increased, the opposite was true for Thermal and Hydroelectric over the period. Also, electricity generated by Nuclear was the most common source for most of the period.

In 1980, the figure for Nuclear electricity production started at 50 Terawat hours (TW-h), compared with the negligible amount of electriciy produced by Renewables. The figure for Nuclear electricity rose rapidly to reach a peak of around 450 TW-h in 2005 before decreasing slightly to roughly 430TW-h in 2010. By contrast, the amount of Renewables electricity remained stable until 2005, followed by a moderate growth of 25 TW-h in the last year.

Looking at other electricity sources, the amount of Thermal electricity was highest with about 120 TW-h in 1980 while the figure for Hydroelectric was 50 TW-h. Over the next 30 years, the figures for both Thermal and Hydroelectric witnessed many minor fluctuations and then ended at around 50 TW-h in 2010.
