Overall, it is clearly evident that the greatest percentage of men involved in regular physical activities in the youngest age group whereas the middle aged women are mostly involved in regular physcial activities.
A gradual decline is seen in the percentages of men involved in regular physical activities among the younger age categories, 52.8% being the highest in 15-24 years and 39.5% being the lowest among 35-44 years. At the same time, women tend to be gradually more active as age advanced, 52.5% being involved in 35-44 years age group, 48.9% in 25-34 age group and 47.7% in 15-24 years age group.
A steady increase in the rates of women being involved in exercise is seen, with the highest record, 53.3% in 45-54 age group. This remained constant at 53% in 55-64 age group which declined significantly to 47.1% in 65 years and above category. Among men, percentages gradually increased as age advanced as evidenced by 43.1%, 45.1% to 46.7% respectively in age groups 45-54, 55-64 and 65 and above.
