Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The chart illustrates shares of money spent for five main factors of human basic needed (food, housing, transportation, health care and clothing) in the four countries in 2009.

Overall, the US spent more money at housing than the UK, Canada and Japan in the period given. The percentage of money spent for food was constantly increased among four countries where transportation was slight dropped for those countries to spend the money with. The least shares of expenditures for those four countries were in health care and clothing.

In terms of housing, US spent about 27% as opposed to Canada which is about 21%. In contrast to food, Japan spent about 24% of their money which was double to the US at 12%. Japan invested in transportation at only 10% which was half percentage of expenditure in Canada at 20%.

However, the least types of five categories that people spent the money with were on health care and clothing among the four countries. Only 2% of consumer in the UK spent money with health care while Canada and Japan spent equally at 4%. There was significant reduced in percentage of expenditures for the US just only 4% in clothing.
