The bar chart illustrates the statistics of total population whereas, the table depicts the total number of people over 65 years and their percentage in regards to total population of Japan over a century ( from 1950 to 2055).
Overall, the the number of people in Japan showed little inflation at the past and future of the period, though it kind of peaked at the middle (at present time) . The proportion of people 65 years and older rose significantly at present and forecasted to increase further in future and gradually will contribute a larger portion of total population.
In regards to the bar chart, the number showed little variation at the beginning and end of the period , which will just be over 5 millions. This figure gradually increased starting from 1955 to 2005 with an growth of 4-6 millions until 1985 and after that period 1-2 millions in every 5 years and finally reached the peak of 127.8 millions in 2005. Then, the numbers of people started to decrease 125,4 millions in 2015, which is further predicted to decline 110 and 89.9 in the year of 2035 and 2055 respectively.
On the table, it can be seen that in 1950 the total number of people aged 65 and over was 4.1 millions which will be 9 time more in 2055. Accordingly their percentage is also showing similar trend on the table which is 4.9% and 41.0% respectively. In the year of 2005, the data represented one fifth of total populations which is 25.7 millions. On the other hand the forecast for year 2035 is total population 37,2 millions contributing 34% .
