The bar graph illustrates the changes in the expenditure on clothes for four different categories including boys, girls, men, and the women in three distinct years in the US. Units are measured in dollars.
Overall, women are spending a huge amount of money on clothes when compared to the other three groups, whereas boys spend the least amount in all the given years. Moreover, expenditure on women's clothes increased in 2005 by over 600 dollars which is the highest among the four groups.
In terms of boy's and girl's clothes, the amount spent was below 200 dollars in all three years. However, in 2005 spending on girl's clothes rose to over 100 dollars when compared to boy's clothes with below 100 dollars.
On the other hand, the amount of money paid out for men's clothes was around 300 dollars in 1985 in contrast to women's clothes with 500 dollars. While, after ten years the expenditure exceeded over 400 dollars for both genders. Furthermore, US men reduced the amount of money on clothes in the last year by 400 dollars while women spent the highest amount in 2005.
