In 2003, burglary was the most common crime, with approximately 3,400 reported cases. The figures rose to around 3,700 in 2004 then there was a downtrend until 2008, hitting around 1,200 cases. This rose slightly in 2009 then kept the figure around 1400 for the remaining period.
In 2003, there were around 2,700 cases of car theft reported. The figure stayed the same before dropping to around 2,000 cases in 2006. After that, the number rose to approximately 2,200 in 2007. There was a marginal decrease in the following year, but from then on, the trend was generally upwards.
