The chart below shows the number of girls per 100 boys enrolled in different levels of school education.
The given bar graph illustrates how many female students per 100 boys enrolled in various levels of education from 1990 to 1998 in prosperous nations and impoverished ones.
As can be seen from the graph, the number of female students enrolling in all education levels witnessed an upward trend. It is also noticeable that higher education is the most attractive level of education among females studying in developed countries, while that of developing countries was the primary education, and the number of female students per 100 males following each level of education in developed countries is higher than that of developing ones in the same education level.
In 1990, there were about 83 female students per 100 boys enrolling in primary education in deprived countries, and the figure for secondary education and third-level education are significantly lower, about 72 and 66 students, respectively. During the 8-year period starting from 1990, there was a remarkable growth in the number of students who are female per 100 male students enrolling second-level education, to a high of 82 students. Similar patterns can be seen when we look at that of primary and higher education, ending up with 87 and 75 girls, respectively.
Looking at the figure for developed nations, there were 105 girls per 100 boys following tertiary education in the year 1990, while the figure for other education levels remained under 100 students. During the remaining years of the shown period, all levels of education experienced an upward trend. The most significant change was in higher education, with a rise of 7 students. At the same time, the figure for primary education and secondary education increased by 1 students, standing at 96 and 99 students, respectively.
