The chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
This bar graph compares the percentage of Australian people who are involved in doing physical activities on a regular basis. The statistics are segregated based age groups and gender, starting from 15 until 65 years old and above.
Young boys between the age of 15 to 24, were the ones who were most involved in doing regular exercises accounting for 52%. Moving onward, the percentage of males involved in any kind of exercise kept decreasing between 25 to 44 of about 42% and 39% respectively. This was followed by a slight increase in the percentage in elderly people reaching around 46% males who are aged 65 and above.
On the other hand, females involvement in physical activities was lower than young boys by about 5%. However, females between 25 and 35, were more engaged in health fitness than males by around 6%. Going forward to older female age groups, the percentages kept on increasing gradually until they reached 47% in the last group.
Overall, it is clear that females were involved in more regular exercises than their male counterparts throughout their entire life-span, except for young people.
