The chart shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.

The graph illustrates the comparison between the proportion of hired dwelling-house and the rate of residence defrayed via English and Welsh families in the period of 1918 – 2011. Generally, the overall trend of the former is in contrast to that of the latter.
To be more specific, commencing at 80 percent, the proportion of rented dwelling-house individual residence, which was the highest in the graph, was four times as high as that of individual residence. In 1939, the rate of the latter went through a slight growth to be a half of the former, which was at roughly 70 percent, and a similar pattern can be seen in 1953 before these two figures became balance after 18 years.
Regarding the period from 1971 to 2011, the percentage of households in owned accommodation, which increased moderately and surpassed the former prior to peaking at 70 percent, doubled that of the former in 1991 and 2001. It is noticeable that the increase of the rented residences ,albeit marginally, opposed to the individual houses decreasing slightly to nearly 65 percent.
