The chart shows the percentage of male and female teachers in six different types of educational setting in the UK in 2010

The bar chart describes the difference in gender of teachers across educational system in the UK in 2010.

While the percentage of male teachers increased from the lowest educational level to the highest one, the percentage of female teachers tended to go down gradually.

There were very few men who worked as teachers in Nursery schools and Primary school. In contrast, the female teachers made up a large proportion of teachers group in the two types of schools that took more than ninety percent of total of the teachers. In Secondary school, the number of male teachers rose considerably but it was still lower than the number of female ones.

Male and female teachers had the same proportion in College which shared a half of total number for each. Fifty-four percent of people who taught in Private training institute was male, while forty-six percent of teachers was female. Men who taught in University had double percentage than the female teachers’ one.
