The three pie charts given compare the proportion of consuming three kinds of nutrients in typical meals in America.
In general, it is transparent that American people consume most sodium and saturated fat in dinner, while added sugar is eaten the most in snacks. In addition, the amount of each kind of nutrients is relatively similar in breakfast.
Concerning the breakfast, the American consume the same amount of nutrients, 14% of sodium and 16% of both saturated fat and sugar. When eating lunch, American people tend to consume much more sodium and saturated fat, with the percentage of 29% and 26% respectively, whereas the amount of added sugar just accounts for nearly a fifth.
Noticeably, the USA citizens eat a great amount of sodium and saturated fat in their dinner, with the figure of 43% and 37%, which are almost threefold higher than that of breakfast. Not following the same trend, those two kinds of nutrients are consumed less in snacks. There are just 14% of sodium and 21% of saturated fat consumed when people eat snacks. In contrast, American people eat snacks containing added sugar the most, with the amount of 42%, which is higher than every other meals’.
