Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The bar chart gives an information on amount of tourists from Japan visited foreign countries in 1985-1995, as showed on the x-axis. Conversely, the line graph indicates the percentage of Japan tourists in Australia’s market of tourism in the same ten-year period as the bar chart.
According to the bar graph, there was a clear growth of travelling tourists from Japan every year over the period (except 1991). At the beginning of the considered period there were nearly 5 millions traveling Japanese. The figure was slightly increasing throughout the period and reached about 15 millions Japanese tourists by 1995.
Turning to the line graph, Australia’s tourism market experienced nearly threefold increase of Japanese visitors by the end of the period (from 2% to 6%, respectively). However, in 1988 there was a decrease of tourists’ from Japan share by around half a percent. This drop was followed by continious growth up to 1993. Next, the share slightly reduced in 1994 compared to 1993.
All in all, both graphs depict positive tendency in the number of travelling Japanese in 1985-1995. It is clearly seen that the amount of tourists from Japan became greater from year to year. Particularly, the percentage of visitors from Japan in Australia dramatically rose over the period.
