South America and Europe occupied the most proportions of coffee production and coffee consumption respectively. And the shippers gained the most profit.
South America produced 46% of coffee of the whole world, while the figures of Central America, Africa and Asia were19%, 18%, 16% respectively. Europe, USA and Japan were the top three highest districts of coffee consumption, making up 73% of the world coffee consumption. Other countries only accounted for 27%.
The profit of coffee industry distributed very unequally. The shippers owned 55% profit, more than half of the total profit. And the retailers attained 25%. However, the producers and the exporters could only obtain 10% of the whole profit respectively.
