It is clear that there are 5 reasons for each group of people. While the predominant reason for cycling to work is to become healthier and friendly to the environment, the majority of people commuting by car want to chase comfort and consider the long distance to work.
Regarding the first chart, we can observe that the percentage of people travelling to work by bikes due to fitness and less pollution account for the highest, at 30% each. However, only 15%, just half of the two group of people above, prefer bicycle as their form of transport as there is no parking problem. The figure for the reason that cycling to work is free of charge or faster than driving is slightly lower, at 13% and 12% respectively.
Taking a closer look at the second chart, the most prevalent cause for people to travel to work by car is because of the comfort along the journey, followed by 21% people who need to drive to work because of the long distance. Meanwhile, there is the same percentage, at 14%, of those who prefer faster speed than cycling and have to carry things to work, thus choose car as their vehicle. Finally, only 11% of worker surveyed commute by car as it is safer than by bicycles.
