The map illustrates the procedures for the production of electricity in a hydroelectric power station.
Overall, flow of river water is ultilized for the generation of the electricity and after that it is distributed through power lines.
As seen in diagram, the river water is accumulated by dam which is also called as high level reservoir. At the bottom of the dam, there is small amount of space called as intake which regulates the flow of water from the reservoir to reversible turbines. In the daytime, the intake is opened so, the reservoir water passes through tunnel to rotate reversible turbines for the generation of the electricity and the excess water are stored in low level reservoir. However, in the night time, the reversible turbine pumps water into opposite direction from low level reservoir to high level reservoir to generate electricity although, intake remain closed during night times.
In the power station, the rotation of reversible turbines are attached to the generator so, the energy generated by these movements are distributed to final consumers through power lines and national grid
