Evaluation of students in any education system is always a topic of discussion around the globe. There are many opinions according to which some experts support assessment through regular projects and assignment while other group of experts give more preference to classroom assessment after a substantial amount of period.
As per study its clear that most of students do not work on their home work and projects which are expected from them to finish from home or out of classroom. Students take help from different sources to finish their assignments and main source in early days is their parents while in later age of study they copy from each other to complete their assignments. Due to this important point assessment through assignments and project work can not be successful to demonstrate actual understanding of students.
On other hand traditional assessment of students by regular classroom written and oral tests force students to read study material, given attentions on classroom during normal academic days and sharpen their memory by memorizing questions and answers to appear on classroom exams. Classroom exams held in presence of invigilator which stop students to copy from each others.
To conclude, assessment through regular project and assignment work do not seem to be better way to examine the actual knowledge of students while assessment through classroom written and oral tests in presence of examiner can assess students with better accuracy.
