The given graph shows the nitrogen oxide emissions produced by four vehicles. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart illustrates information about emissions released by different types of vehicle.
Overall, buses and petrol cars experienced an upward trend. While lorries and diesel cars witnessed the opposite.
In detail, buses seem to be the most harmful to the environment as they release 40g/km at just 10km/h. Fortunately, the number gradually fell by nearly 25g/km which is the lowest level of emissions produced since the speed was maintained at 60km/h. However, when they drove faster the amount of nitrogen oxide increased parallel to the speed and reached 43g/km at 130km/h. In the second position were lorries with fewer emissions discharged at about 33g/km, which decreased with the speed of the vehicle until it reached 90km/h and maintained 17g/km emissions. The number jumped a little to 19g/km when the speed increased from 90 to 130km/h.
On the other hand, diesel and petrol cars were in the two lowest positions as they were more suitable for the environment. Petrol cars had higher exhaust fuel consumption than diesel cars at 10g/km with petrol and 5g/km with diesel. However, the emissions from petrol vehicles have changed from about 10 to 13g/km. Besides, diesel cars produce fewer emissions when they drive faster.
