Overall, the figure for specific products showed different trends, whilst the consumption of chicken saw an upward trend, there was a downward trend witnessed in the quantity of three other kinds of meat used. Moreover, citizens of that country ate fish less than any other given products.
In 1979, the respective consumption of fish, lamb, beef, chicken was 60 grams, 150 grams, more than 250 grams, around 140 grams. Over the next ten years, the data of beef and lamb used decreased dramatically, followed by growth to approximately 240 grams and 120 grams respectively in nearly the year 1984. In the interim, the statistics of chicken consumed underwent a moderate rise of around 30 grams. The data of fish used declined gradually over that period of time.
From that point onwards, by 2004, the consumption of chicken continued its upward trend and reached 250 grams per person per week. While the quantity of beef and lamb used fell steadily, the amount of fish eaten stayed unchanged over the given period
