The graph below shows the contributions of three sectors to the UK economy in the twentieth century
The given bar chart compares the percentage of three sectors which contributed to the economy of the UK from 1990 to 2000.
Overall, it is outstanding that agriculture and manufacturing sectors saw a downward trend while there was a significant increase in business and financial sector. Additionally, the UK witnessed the most sharp change in busniess and financial sector.
Looking at the chart in more details, the period between 1990 and 1950 exhibited a remarkable rise for twice times in business and finacial sector, while the statistic for agriculture just rose minimally by 3%. By contrast, manufacture was the part of economy’s country which the proportion of contribution decreased slightly from around 44% to almost 37%.
However, between 1950 to 2000, the UK saw a sharply drop of agriculture and hit a trough at around 3% in 2000. Similarly, manufacturing sector also declined twice as many as the previous time. On the other hand, business and financial sector occupied the highest position in the end of the time surveyed. The figure was 9% in 1950 and reached a peak at approximately 35% in 2000.
