The maps illustrate the developments which took place in a village called Meadowside and a town called Fonton over three periods of time.
Overall, both areas experienced significant growth over the period. Recently, both areas have joined, and some facilities have been constructed.
In 1962, it is clear that Fontom area is exceeding Meadowside. Additionally, both of them were separated and no transportations linked them. Meadowside had a road running through it from the southwest to the northeast, while Fonton had a rail line passing through from the southeast to the northwest.
By 1985, the two areas had spread out noticeably and had also been joined by a new road. Regarding Meadowside, a leisure center and housing estate had been built to the north of the original road, while a superstore established to the south of the housing estate.
Currently, Meadowside and Fonton have become one huge area. Moreover, a station and a hotel are built to the north, while a business park is constructed to the south.
