The maps illustrate the developments made to a town called Felixstone over a period of 34 years, from 1967 to 2001.
Overall, it is apparent that the town underwent drastic changes with the addition of a car park, tennis courts, apartments, and beaches had been separated into private and public.
To begin with, in 1967, there were shops on either side of the high street. There was some farmland to the east of the high street and a golf course on its west. By 2001, the shops to the left remained there while the shops on the other side had been replaced by apartments. Also, the farmland was demolished to give way to a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a hotel. In addition, the hotel beside the dunes was renovated and a huge car park added to it. Wind turbines had been established in the southern part of the town near dunes. Moreover, the marina and fish mark had gone to develop beaches, where developed a public beach to the west and a private beach in the easternmost part. However, the cafe and golf course remain untouched.
