With regard to boys 6-11, there were 87% of boys who played football, which was twice than that for cricket, at 45%. Baseball was more popular with this aged group than rugby, with 35% and 23% respectively. The less common activity among boys 6-12 was swimming, with 19% of participants.
Looking the boys 12-16, the proportion of boys went swimming was 19%, which was similar to rugby, at 21%. But these figures still were lower than that for baseball, with 25%. There were 78% of 6-12 year-old boys who played football, 44% higher than the figure for cricket.
