Digging into the numbers of the Japan, Major portion of the expenditure goes to food, Housing, and transportation with about 20% each. The striking fact to note here is, only 6% of the expenditure is related to health care. Other goods and services take about 25%-30% of the expenditure in both Japan and Malaysia.
Keeping Malaysia and Japan side by side, it becomes clear that Malaysians spends quite more on Housing and Food individually. Further, where transportation expenditure was around 20% is Japan, it went down to only 10% in Malaysia. To add more, Expenditure behind Health care goes down even more and reaches a new low of only 3% in Malaysia.
Overall, There are both similarities and differences about how much and where Malaysians and Japanese people spend their money.
