People have different views regarding how higher education institutes should offer its seats to deserved candidates. Although a section of society asserts that most universities must admit only those students who do well in academics, I harbour the belief that it ought to select candidates based on multiple criteria and only on the basis of educational scores. This essay will discuss both viewpoints involving my recommendations in the subsequent paragraphs.
To begin with, there are numerous reasons why a few people bolster that educational bodies must give preference to only bright students. One of the primary reasons is that universities always hunt for top-class students and challenge that toppers may bring laurels to their universities by getting placed in reputed companies. Since such intelligent students always aspire to achieve more marks than their peer group, it will indulge motivation among the mates which will assist them in getting a good position in public and private sector jobs. Therefore, it will aid universities to add a feather in their cap by rising the glory of its educational system or fame to its institutes.
On the contrary, I opine that instead of focusing only on grabbing top-class students in academics, it is equally important to opt for other talented students who excel in at least one field. Therefore, in order to maintain equilibrium among batch mates, it is required to have some talent other than studies, and it may be in the form of sports or dance talent. Consequently, other candidates may learn some life-long qualities such as teamwork spirit, collaboration, and leadership skills. These skills will not only allow folks to focus on interpersonal aspects but also help them to become better entrepreneurs which in turn benefit study institutions to make their prospects stronger than ever before.
In conclusion, while a good amount of people still put their viewpoint in the favor of providing seats in colleges based on higher grades, I firmly emphasize universities to pay attention to other talents as well so that there would be a mixed talent to showcase their skills in the same universities.
