The provided table illustrates the proportion of national payments in Ireland, Spain, Italy, Sweden and Turkey on three differents products and services in 2002.
At the first glane, all countries spent most on food, drink and tobaco, while the lowest consumption was on leisure and education in the five countries. Overall, the expenditure of Turkey was higher than the other countries.
Food, drink and tobacco consumption in Turkey, which took the highest prossesion of the five countries, at 31,14%. The expenditure of Ireland was also high (at 28,91%) compared to Sweden which spent least on these terms of products is 15,77%. Spain and Italy consumed 18,80% and 16,36% respectively.
In terms of clothing and footwear, Italy spent more than the other countries (9,00 %) in contrast to the lowest figure which could be observed in Sweden at 5,40%. Whereas, the other countries spent on average approximately 6,5%.
All the five countries spent least on leisures and education accounted for under 5%. Turkey spents most on services at just 4,35% of their national consumption which is around doubled that of Spain (1,98%).
