The table below illustrates weekly consumption by age group of dairy products in a European country.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
AGES
Milk 1200ml 1650ml 1670ml 1900ml
Full Fat 59% 20% 45% 30%
Low Fat 41% 80% 55% 70%
Butter 12g 19g 60g 30g
Full Fat 60% 38% 50% 49%
Low Fat 40% 62% 50% 51%
The two given tables compare the amount of milk and butter consumed by different age groups in a European country on a weekly basis. In general, the older people get, the more dairy products they consume. In addition, people who are under 25 years old are likely to prefer full fat milk and butter while low fat is the favourite kind of butter and milk for people who are from 26 to 65 years old and over.
It is interesting to note that there are 1200ml of milk that is drunk in the age group under 25, more than half of them drink full fat milk while this figure for people from 26 to 45 is just a quarter from the total of 1650ml milk. Low fat milk seems not to be prefered, only 41% of young people drink this kind of milk weekly, other age groups all have the proportion of people drinking low fat food over 50%, especially 80% of people in the age group of 26-45 years old. Older people consume milk the most, with 1900ml per week, but there also only one third of them drink full fat milk whereas around 70% people in this age group drink low fat milk, a significant proportion.
Regardless of butter, people who are under 25 years old don’t consume much butter, around 12g each week less than that of people who are over 65 years old about 18g. Similar to milk, people in the age of 25 and under like butter that is high in fat, about 60% of them use this kind of butter, and people who are from 26-45 years old don’t use it much, only about 38% of them consume this butter. The opposite trend can be seen in terms of low fat butter which are 40% and 62% relatively. At the age of 45-65, people consume exactly the same amount of butter, 30g per week. Additionally, elderly people are all like low fat and full fat butter, each kind of butter makes up for roughly half of people consume them.
