The table below shows the results of a survey of the average number of cars per hour using three suburban roads during working hours in a ten-year pollution monitoring programme. Traffic calming was introduced in Harper Lane at the beginning of 1989.
The solution system is solving the problem on the three roads in narrow-minded of the main city during a busy hour in a 10-year period is presented in a table.
From 1993 to 1998, people who drove cars through Harper Lane increased dramatically between 82 and 915. A rise of 833 cars per hour in a 5-year period. The number of cars passing by Great York way experienced fluctuation with an upward trend. After reaching a peak of 800 cars in 1996 the figure for the ones in Long Lane showed steady declined, but this rebounced back to 700 in 1998.
By 2002, the cars passing by Harper Lane had shown a dramatic decrease by 722 one to the implementation of traffic calming while the number of ding cars in Great York way had increased sharply and continued to hover around 900 cars.
Overall, the methods hand successfully minimized the crowded roads, by implementing systems. Harper Lane was the highest decreased while the other has increased the main trends towards the end of the year.
