The tables below give information about the world population and distribution in 1950 and 2000, with an estimate of the situation in 2050.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The given tables illustrate the population of the world and its sharing in 5 continents in every 50-year period from 1950 to 2050.
In general, the population of the world is predicted to bloom in 2050. While Asia is always the continent with the largest population, Oceania is the exact opposite.
In 1950 and 2000, Asia took the lead in the distribution of world population, at 56% and 60% in turn, whilst Oceania was at the bottom of this list, at around 1%. Furthermore, there was a decline in the percent of the population allocated in both Europe and North America; at the same time, Africa and Latin America saw a slight rise in the spreading of population.
In 2050, Asia is estimated to continue to head the list with approxiamately 60% and Oceania will still be in the last place with just 1%. Moreover, although the distribution in Africa is forecasted to rise to 20% in 2050, the population in North America and Europe is thought to fall down, at 4% and 7% respectively. Last but not least, the distribution in Latin America is believed to be sustainable at just under one-tenth percent.
