Topic: The charts below show the water levels of 6 cities in Australia in October 2009 and 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisions where relevant.

The chart gives information about the proportion of water level in six metropolitan areas in Australia recorded in October between 2009 and 2010.

As can be seen, it is apparent that almost all Australian cities increased the level of water after an examined year, the opposite was true for Darwin city, except for Brisbane, where there was no change recorded. Noticeably, Canberra replaced Sydney city to become the most prominent water level among the six cities at the end of the mentioned period.

Looking at the chart, in October 2009, Sydney took the lead, surpassing other cities to witness the highest water level roughly 80 percent. This percentage also nearly doubled and was four times greater than the water proportion compared to Perth and Melbourne respectively. Having less than a tiny fraction of the water level in comparison to Sydney, Canberra was the second area containing abundant water in reservoirs. Meanwhile, both Darwin and Brisbane held fluctuated around 50 percent, with 45 percent for the former and 58 percent for the latter.

After a year, the ratio of water level in Sydney increased slightly to just over 80 percent, whereas the water ratio in Canberra witnessed a considerable increase to reach a peak at merely 100 percent. The same trend was observed regarding Melbourne and Perth, both water levels in the two cities rose over twice times as greater as the portion in the previous year, with 40% and 70%, respectively. In contrast, there was recorded a downward trend when it came to the water level of Darwin, standing at approximately a quarter. In addition, the percentage of Brisbane remained stable throughout the period.
