The line graph illustrates the population growth in India and China since 2000 and how they will change in the future.
Overall, as can be seen, it is predicted that the proportion of people living in both countries will increase in the period from 2000 to 2030. In addition, it is projected that in the year 2050, India will reach the highest point of the population rates.
In 2000, the percentage of Chinese people were over 1,25 billion. The figure for Indian people was significantly lower, at around 1 billion.
According to the graph, the population in India will grow more quickly than in China. It is expected that China and India have the same population rates in the year 2030, at about 1,45 billion. In 2050, it is predicted to see a slight decrease of Chinese with under 1,4 billion people, whereas India’s population will experience a dramatic rise and reach approximately 1,6 billion.
