The amount of drinkable water for people is decreasing. Why is this? What can be done?
It is getting harder to find a source of drinkable water these days. While there are many theories to explain this phenomenon, I also think that a range of measures we can take to solve the issue.
To begin with, it is well-known that water is a vital element to maintain the functions of our body properly. In order words, the shortage of drinkable water can bring destructive impacts on our lives or even perhaps the possibility of distinction. To deal with this, many governments and institutions conducted investigations regarding the cause of this unprecedented situation and concluded it is all because of global warming. Global warming causes hotter, less dry weather throughout the world, resulting in extreme drought which dries the source of water like rivers, lakes, and even underwater. For example, while the average temperature was rapidly increased in the past decade, the availability of drinkable water was inversely proportional.
Nonetheless, there are certain actions we can take if global warming is truly the one that is behind the scenes. Firstly, We can simply impose green taxes on the industries, drivers, and airlines that emits a whole host of toxic gases and an enormous amount of carbon dioxide. Secondly, investment in the technology converting salty water to drinkable water could be another solution, meaning we will have a potentially unlimited source of water if this became possible. Lastly, as an individual, we can participate the campaign to reduce daily usage of water.
In conclusion, although we are facing a serious problem of drinkable water shortage by global warming, I guarantee that it can easily be fixed by adopting some measures mentioned above.
